Overview:
How VPOP3 Works?
VPOP3 is an Internet email server and gateway allowing significant savings on Internet telephone charges. VPOP3 hosts its own POP3 mailboxes for local network users and fetches mail from ISP accounts. E.g. if all the mail for yourdomain.com goes into one ISP POP3 mailbox, VPOP3 will retrieve it all and pass it on to the individual users mail boxes. Outgoing mail is stored by VPOP3 and sent at the next scheduled connection. This mail retrieval operation can be scheduled to occur at specific times or it can be triggered by the action of sending a message with the priority set to urgent.
VPOP3 costs much less than other equivalent services. Many companies require a mail server only and appreciate the advantages of not storing mail on a remote server. With ISDN or dial-up accounts using a remote server can be expensive with each individual user making their own separate call to the internet to collect their email.
VPOP3 solves this problem by making scheduled calls to collect all the mail from the remote server. VPOP3 is perfect for businesses that want fully integrated email. By controlling email "checks" and collating downloading into one process, VPOP3 can provide significant savings on your phone bill. |
